Suffolk Hotels UK – The Crown, Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk
The Crown Inn, in Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk, re-opened in 2003 following an comprehensive refurbishment.
The Crown Inn is an independently run traditional village Inn which is highly acclaimed for its hospitality, great service, quality food, and an comprehensive range of beers and wines. Our luxury hotel, which was opened in second half of 2008, was a natural extension for our historic Inn, and is an ideal base for your holiday or short break. We have eleven en-suite bedrooms, which are well furnished and uniquely appointed in sympathy with their historic surroundings. The Crown Inn is undoubtably one of the finest Suffolk hotels in the UK.
The charming village of Stoke by Nayland is situated on a hill above the Stour and Box River valleys on the border of Essex and Suffolk. The nearby Church of St Mary’s, with its 120 foot tower, is a well known local landmark and was much loved by the English landscape artist John Constable, appearing in several of his paintings. It has been said that when the bells of Stoke-by-Nayland ring, all Suffolk stops to listen.
When the hustle and bustle of everyday life gets just too much, you’ll find The Crown Inn one of the most ideal Suffolk hotels to escape to in the UK. Take time to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside of the Dedham Vale, hire a boat from Dedham or Flatford Mill and spend an afternoon on the picturesque river Stour, or visit the beautiful local villages of Long Melford or Lavenham. Once you have done all this you may perhaps feel like venturing further afield to the historic coastal towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh or Frinton.
