We re-opened The Crown Inn, in Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk, in late 2003 after an extensive refurbishment programme.

The Crown is a privately owned village Inn, acclaimed for its traditional hospitality, great service, quality food, real ales and wines. Our luxury hotel, which was completed in September 2008, was a natural extension for the Inn, and is an ideal base for your holiday Suffolk. The eleven en-suite bedrooms are well furnished and exclusively designed to be sympathetic to their historic surroundings.

The delightful village of Stoke by Nayland is built on a hill above the Stour and Box river valleys which border the counties of Suffolk and Essex. The nearby tower of St Mary’s Church, at over 30 metres tall, is a local landmark and can be seen in the paintings of the English landscape artist John Constable, who immortalised the surrounding countryside of The Dedham Vale in his 18th century works.

Explore the glorious surrounding countryside, rent a boat from Dedham or Flatford Mill, or take some time to visit the historic local villages of Long Melford or Lavenham.
