Family Hotels in Suffolk – The Crown, Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk
The Crown Stoke by Nayland Suffolk, was reopened in November 2003 after extensive refurbishment. Our family hotel in Suffolk, which took twelve months to build, was opened in the second half of 2008.
The Crown Stoke by Nayland is our privately owned village Inn and is well known for its welcoming environment. We have a passion for great service, food, real ale and wine. Our hotel, which was completed in September 2008, was a natural extension for the inn, and is undoubtably one of the best family hotels in Suffolk. The eleven luxury en-suite bedrooms are stylishly furnished and individually designed in sympathy with the historic surroundings.
The beautiful village of Stoke by Nayland is built on a hill above the Stour and Box river valleys bordering the counties of Suffolk and Essex. The tower of St Mary’s Church, at 120 feet tall, is a local landmark and can be found in the paintings of the John Constable, the English landscape artist, who immortalised the surrounding countryside of The Dedham Vale, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
If the hustle and bustle of life gets just too much, the Crown is the perfect choice to getaway from it all. Explore the glorious Suffolk countryside, hire a boat at Flatford Mill or Dedham, or visit the historic villages of Long Melford or Lavenham. Once you have done all this you may perhaps feel like venturing slightly further afield to the historic seaside towns of Frinton or Aldeburgh – the Crown is one of the best located family hotels in Suffolk from which to base your travels.
