Constable country boutique hotel
The Crown, in Stoke by Nayland, can be found on the Essex/Suffolk border – right in the heart of Constable country. This area of outstanding natural beauty was captured by the English Romantic painter, John Constable, who was born and grew up in the area. The award-winning Inn and boutique hotel is nestled within Constable country, with views over the rolling hills all around. The 120-foot church tower, visible from The Crown Inn, is a local landmark and can be seen in a number of Constable’s paintings.
