The tradition of a Sunday roast can be traced back as far as the 1700’s and marked the end of a period of fasting observed prior to religious services on Sunday morning. This tradition was observed across most of Europe, the Sunday Roast as we know it is, however a truly British creation (and one of which we are rightfully proud!).
The Crown Inn at Stoke-by-Nayland is open every Sunday for a traditional Sunday Lunch, cooked and served by our dedicated team in comfortable surroundings. Choose from a selection of carefully selected meats with all the trimmings and make the most of this most tasty of British traditions (fasting optional).
